Amphioxus
This organism was the start of all vertebrates. It was living 250 years ago and only was 5 centimeters long. It had little body structures that resembled a spine. Yet had no limbs or anything as such to make it able to do much. This is pretty wild to me to be the start of vertebrates.
Dog Park
I think the dog park is great for the community. I myself went with some friends to help clean it up. If you want your dog to have a safe playful area to just run around and do whatever it wants and somewhat be free without you worrying about it pooping in the house. This would be the place to go. I enjoyed helping to clean it up but we learned while we were there that the water could possible have some contamination in it. This makes it hard to want to let your dog be here. But the dog parks in general is a great place to rest and to enjoy all the dogs that come here. It's a good destresser.

Jackson Springs park
This was a great trip i thoroughly enjoyed hitting rocks with the miniature pickaxe. I found quartz and hurt myself hitting at the feldspar. I never knew how much fun making rocks explode was. I might no have gotten out of this lab what was supposed to be, but i gained a new respect for people who do this for a living and the people who work at a quarry. I would do this again because it was loads of fun. The park was inherited by the community and became an issue because of desegregation. This was also an interesting fact that was learned

Ocmulgee National Park
On our trip to the Ocmulgee national park. We went on a nature walk through the woods. This was cool, saw a snake and other crazy random objects in the woods. Learned about some trees and got to jump in a little ditch that had a cool stream wearing away at the sides of it. Then we went to the meeting mound. This was amazing to think that back then they were able to live underground , somewhat. this mound was amazing however the doorway is tiny even for me and i'm small.
This is from Dr. Rood's blood sugar experiment. He ate candy and drank soda to force his blood sugar to spike. After about 15 minutes the blood sugar did spike but it quickly tried to work it's way back to equilibrium. over the course of 45 minutes the blood sugar went back to normal however it went below the starting point before getting back to the starting point. This was regulated by negative feedback to keep the body in homeostasis.

12 Soil Orders
The 12 soil orders was presented by this great detailed website http://soils.cals.uidaho.edu/soilorders/
The most interesting of the soil orders would have to be the oxisols. This is because of having being on the tropical places which is some of my favorite places to go and the fact that it is not red clay makes it all the better to me. I love the tropical weather and there is nothing wrong with the dirt on the islands

Lab 2
For lab 2, we went through the Ocmulgee river we measured the elevation of the river from end to end. The points where it has the dot in the circle, these identify the points of the elevation from every 100 foot interval. We used two poles that were at 10 foot strings and went over the whole river measuring the difference between the two poles. The arrows indicate the amount of clams found around the areas that we checked. The outlines indicate the faster currents in the area of the river that we explored.
This lab was really interesting because of the searching through the river for clams and the interesting things you can find in it.Also the catfish that were in the river made it fun to learn that the cans that are in the river can house so many small catfish.

Dumbo octopus
The Dumbo Octopus. Cute isn't it. You would have never guessed that this little thing would be an octopus. It's very rare you see something such as this and relate it to an octopus, but that is what makes it special. The sheer fact that it looks like a cute little blob and it's something people would hardly ever see is quite amazing. It looks like something you'd carry around on your shoulder and it would make little noises. This very interesting creature, and don't let the picture fool you, a grown Dumbo octopus can get as large as 6 feet long. These guys tend to live about 23,000 feet below sea level and weigh up to 13 pounds. And the biggest difference between them and your typical octopus is the way they eat, they swallow their prey whole and just digest it as they move.
